The two companies are now working on the prototype of The Macallan Horizon, a single malt whisky that will be produced as a limited edition. The Macallan Horizon prototype will be sold as a whisky product starting in the summer of 2023. This combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge materials and technology to produce a “unique” look.

Six up-cycled, recycled, or ethically sourced materials that are essential to both businesses were used to create the ‘first-of-its-kind’ design, which presents the bottle horizontally in a case. The flavor profile for the whisky was created by Macallan’s master whisky maker, Kirsteen Campbell after she visited Bentley Motors in Crewe and observed first-hand how both brands are passionate about creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation. This prototype was created as an aesthetic experience for those who value elegance, have a discerning palate, and are passionate about sustainable innovation. Near the time of the liquid’s release next year, specifics such as the age statement, tasting notes, and the price will be made public. This moves away from Macallan’s customary product release format, which would see the product available for immediate purchase, and is designed on purpose by the company to resemble the way Bentley sells its automobiles.
